And it sure seems the Bills still got the guy they wanted at 33. Would they've been able to do that at the Cheats' slot; especially if the Cheats grabbed the guy the Panthers wanted? If you want Coleman, and you have a pretty damn good idea that KC is taking Worthy, and no one else is taking Coleman before you...trade the damn pick. And if you know Carolina isn't taking Coleman...trade the pick again. Saves a bit of money against the cap. And generally, GMs have a pretty good idea what other teams' draft boards look like - scouts spend most of the year scouting, attend the same events, and talk to each other. 3

To the bolded, absolutely. Was merely pointing out that there could be a reason besides "don't help the Cheats under any circumstances" why the Bills might've preferred a "lesser" trade package to only move down 1 slot. They start moving too far back and then they DON'T get Coleman but have to "settle" for something else. Beane obviously didn't think the difference in value from better later picks would've been worth the risk of not getting Coleman.

After Buffalo wouldn’t trade with them, they traded down.

He would have made a great target for their new faggoty-ass dudebro quarterback to underthrow.
