If this mf'er doesn't release the findings of the investigation -- especially after whacking Gruden -- people need to raise some hell. We'll see if Mark Davis has the chops to give the cereal bowl back to his barber and start pounding Goodell publicly about releasing the findings.

Not surprising, but will absolutely make for good theater...especially if it leads to having all the documents released to the public.

You would think they would have to be a part of the discovery process.. especially since the allegation specifically mentions that.

I'd wager that's the actual point of the lawsuit. They can pay Gruden a crapton of money to go away, or they can pay later when all of their emails and internal documents get "leaked" to the press.

man, there is a LOT in there...i dont watch Succession as i thought the first season was silly....but this sounds like it could be a plot line in that show

He paid $1.6million and didn't get a confidentiality agreement ?!?

From the article:

"According to these people, the woman’s lawyer, Brendan Sullivan, accused Snyder’s lawyers of offering his client more money beyond the $1.6 million the team paid in 2009, if she agreed not to speak to anyone about her allegations against Snyder and her settlement with the team. In court filings, Wilkinson later described phone calls to Sullivan from Snyder’s lawyers as an attempt to “silence” the 2009 accuser. Wilkinson and Sullivan declined to comment."

The way i read that was she did sign an NDA, Snyder waived it for the purpose of the NFL investigation, and then behind the scenes and unbeknownst the the investigator , offered her more money if she refused to participate in the investigation.

"Baseless?" Isn't that was discovery is for? If it is legal enough for the current House to do, it should be legal enough for Gruden to do.

NFL moves to dismiss Jon Gruden lawsuit, calls ex-Las Vegas Raiders coach's claims against league 'baseless'

The NFL filed a motion asking a Nevada court to dismiss former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden's lawsuit against the league, saying accusations that the NFL leaked Gruden's emails are "baseless" and "should be dismissed for failure to state a single viable cause of action."

The league responded Wednesday to the suit that Gruden filed in district court in Nevada's Clark County in November. The NFL filed a motion to dismiss the case and also asked the court to stay that motion until it first rules on whether the case should be moved to arbitration.

They have a court date of Feb 23rd.
the League had till Wednesday to respond to the charges. They did so in a perfunctory and cheap manner.

Gruden’s going to win.

I don't know what to make of this... Why is the oversight committee looking into misconduct allegations against Snyder?

Six former Washington employees make new allegations against Daniel Snyder at U.S. House committee hearing
The Oversight Committee's investigation into the NFL and the Washington franchise is ongoing

</snip>

"We launched this investigation because the NFL has not been transparent about the workplace misconduct issues it uncovered within [Washington]," said Krishnamoorthi in a statement that preceded testimony from the ex-staffers. "These victims are bravely coming forward with their stories, sharing details of despicable abuse in their workplace. ... Our investigation will continue until the perpetrators of sexual harassment are held accountable."

CBS Sports obtained the opening statements from all six former staffers. They detail alleged misconduct the Oversight Committee's chairman and chairwoman believe the NFL "covered up" before its investigation into the team.

</snip>

In October 2021, however, the Oversight Committee -- the House of Representatives' main investigative arm -- contacted NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to request all documents and findings related to the Washington investigation. This came in the wake of additional reports that leaked discriminatory emails exchanged with former team staffers and led to the resignation of then-Raiders coach Jon Gruden. Attorneys for 40 different former Washington employees called on the NFL to fully disclose the 650,000+ emails that were examined as part of the investigation, but the NFL declined for confidentiality reasons.

So glad the world's in such good shape that Congress can spend their time on this.  I mean, it's not like Russia's about to invade Ukraine or anything...
