Quebec actually.  West of Canada is well equipped to deal with wildfires but the French don’t seem to be.

Canadian wildfire smoke is radioactive because Fukushima...

(FYI, of course this is bullshit.  My geiger counter is showing a normal 0.14 microsieverts an hour.)

(Yes, I have a geiger counter.  It's for the cat.)

You irradiate the cat?

That seems efficient but not as much fun as my buddy's tip for properly bobbing one's tail.  He suggested you snip them right behind the ears.  :classic_wink:

*I* didn't do it.

Cat had iodine treatment for a thyroid tumor.  Bought a geiger counter to know how radioactive she was.  40 microsieverts an hour.  That's...a lot.  About twice the allowed dosage for nuclear workers.

You should've put the puss in a lead box and played Schrödinger's cat

@snafu how are things on your end ? We have worse air pollution than New Delhi and our province is woefully in equipped  to handle the wildfires.

Was in grad school and convinced my advisor to let me bring home the lab's hand held geiger counter when my mom had a bone density scan.  Could detect her through the wall.Made jokes about mom being one hot babe and asked her to stand n the corner as I needed a light to read by.

Obviously, ser didn't laugh.

This ranks right up there with my tactic for teaching cats to swim:  First, you put a cinder block in a burlap bag, then....
