Now, with a pre-draft process looking much more like normal, there are better opportunities for players from small schools to get drafted. And once again, they need to be exceptional to stand out in a field of extraordinary athletes.

We looked over the standout performances from small-schoolers at their pro days to see who might have stood out enough to get drafted.

Offensive line

There weren’t any players projected to play tackle who stood out — at least not any that weren’t already invited to the NFL combine. But one player who played tackle in college and projects to guard in the NFL did stand out. Sebastian Gutierrez from Minot State, a Division II second-team All-American, certainly fits the physical profile of an NFL player. A quick 1.76-second 10-yard split and 4.68-second short shuttle at 308 pounds speak well to his movement, as does his 9’4” broad jump — well above average for the position. Jason Poe from Mercer was mentioned last week and might be even higher on team boards.

Once again, here’s how the positions lined up against one another in terms of when the best players in the league were drafted, where they came from and how old they were upon entering the league

how is it they think the Bills have executed this concept consistently on running plays?

The key word is "ability."  I don't think that tweet implied that the Bills oline generated consistently good blocks, but they have the ability to.  Toward the end of the season, once Daboll and Bobby Johnson got their head out of their asses, the Bills did a good job in the run game.

The key phrase in the image is the following: Yards rushing and yards per carry rushing on perfectly-blocked runs (career)

emphasis mine.

Pretty hard to assess when they don't know the specific blocking assignments

Not sure I like a WR in the 1st.  I'd prefer an OT with the 25th pick (assuming Beane doesn't trade up).  Take a WR in the third or fourth round.

While you mention it...

I'm dismayed by the lack of a Williams in your mock draft.

Josh knows how much Williams are loved around Buffalo. He’s keeping this one especially close.
