Buffalo Bills Free Agency 2024

This is an Athletic article. If you don't have an account, this is his list (with lots of explanation). This is who the Bills need to retain in his opinion:

When it comes to their offseason, the Buffalo Bills need to be selective with how they go about their business. The Bills have a lot of roster holes opening up with upcoming free agents and still, a massive projected salary cap deficit to overcome before they do anything.

Last week, we ranked the top 10 Bills free agents in terms of how much interest they could get on the open market. But today brings a different spin on the group.

Who could, and should, the Bills prioritize to re-sign with what likely will be a modest amount of cap space? Factoring who realistically could return and the feasibility of their new contracts, here is a full look at which players would be most impactful for the money the Bills might spend on them.

1. DT DaQuan Jones
2. DE A.J. Epenesa
3. DE Leonard Floyd
4. WR Gabriel Davis
5. DB Cam Lewis
6. S Micah Hyde or Taylor Rapp
7. OL David Edwards
8. RB Ty Johnson
9. LB Tyrel Dodson
10. CB Dane Jackson

Just buy AJ Klein a RV with enough gas to follow the Bills from stadium to stadium.

Any possibility that aj gets Taylor as a side chick? guarantee us a Super Bowl.

Hard to argue with that list, perhaps move AJ above DaQuan is about it

Today he said he wants to play with an elite QB, he wants a SB ring.

Watch him go to the friggin' Chiefs.

Jordan Poyer

Poyer or fellow safety Micah Hyde were the top choices, but we’re going with the heavy hitter on the back end. After spending four seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Poyer signed in Buffalo and became the backbone of a terrific defense, helping the Bills win four consecutive AFC East titles. His peak came in 2021, when he earned first-team All-Pro honors.

Spielman only played 1.5 seasons with us.  I will say that his first season was an absolute clinic on how to play MLBer in the NFL.

I just thought that Sal's list was a little short given the contributions of other players with some offering shorter but more productive careers.  James Lofton should be on that list as well.  I would not have an issue with any one of them being THE best FA signing for the Bills.

Seems like a good move.  They obviously need a couple vets at S (in addition to a rookie or two) and they aren't going to pay big $ for one of the top tier FA.

but what about Damar?

Given he earns just slightly more than the minimum and offers no savings if cut, I expect he'll still be here for ST and as a deep reserve.

Or else they'll cut him on Friday at 5pm to avoid any potential 'heartless Bills' news nonsense.
