So my son and his girlfriend came up to visit this week. I booked an ocean fishing charter for Wednesday and we watched an episode of Deadliest Catch on Tuesday night. They have a young female captain (for diversity sake and her dad had passed away leaving her the boat) who had a mishap with the boat and she started cussing.
I said, "well she certainly doesn't cuss like a sailor."
My son's girlfriend quipped, "she cusses like a millennial".

I laughed more than a little.

I think you're talking about Sig Hansen's daughter?  Not the network's call - The captains/owners still run their own boats.

 

Only other female captain on the show is Linda Greenlaw...who I know about from books I've read years ago.  She's been fishing for some 40 years, practically a legend in the swordfishing community as I understand it (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio played her in A Perfect Storm),  Pretty sure she swears like a drunken sailor.

 

Hansen's girl...she looks like she says "shucks" and "fiddlesticks" a lot.

Yes, we went on a Viking cruise with stops in Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Wales, and Iceland.
