What kind of wine?  I mean...what brand?  Who bottles it?

Hell, let me just put it this way: wine futures are a thing.  What should I buy?

Let me know when you find out but here are some good bets...

Bounty Paper towels (Proctor & Gamble)

Kleenex (Ann, mead, Augie) (Kimberly-Clark)

"Shouldn't this be in the conspiracy thread?"

Ann, Augie and Mead probably.

I think it was done by the Champagne people.  They’re getting out of hand.

The only reason wine should be made is to turn it into Champagne :spy:

The old guy with the Vietnam hat I met this weekend was an MP in Saigon.

The guy next to him, without the Vietnam hat, was a SAR chopper pilot.

The quiet one, without the hat, is the bigger badass.

This is high level parody - but we live in a world where parody is dead. :classic_laugh:

I worked with a writer who always told the room that she was going to "live off the land on a boat"  whenever she'd get fed up breaking an episode :classic_laugh:

Quick story. My Uncle was in Vietnam. never ever talks about it. WE had a woods paintball war going on in the back 40 with some of my brothers and our kids along with him and my cousin and their kids from Long Island on a visit here. Uncle Gary was on my team and we were the first team to hide and protect the flag. Uncle Gary said, "I will hide here". Thinking the old man was toast because he was in the center of a cleared out trail I was sure to put myself where I could pick off the enemy when they ambushed him. I put myself just over a knoll to be able to see them coming. One at a time as they approached he took each out with a single shot. What I couldn't see from my point of view is the fortress he build out of sticks in about 5 minutes. You couldnt see him in there. When that game was over I asked how he did that so fast. He said, I learned to survive over there. Its in my nature. That was when our soldiers were men!!

Stupid question - why is one wing so much shorter than the other? Or is it just the angle?

This is one of the most logical scenarios to use this tech - it's also the best looking jet pack tech I've seen. Usually it looks ridiculous.

It's the angle.  The wings have about a ten degree dihedral (upward tilt.)  So at the angle the shot's taken at - maybe 25 degrees - you're seeing the right wing from almost perpendicular to the wing surface, but the left wing from about 40 degrees of perpendicular, so it looks about 30% shorter.

Here's another example of the effect.  Probably the same plane too - Red Bull's "Flying Bulls" P-38 registered N25Y - judging by the nose (most flyable P-38s still have the gun ports in the nose, with fake gun barrels) and the modifications to the nacelles (prominent dorsal air intakes, no turbochargers, "F"-style ventral intakes).

The sunset pic is probably still faked - a composite.  There's two big giveaways.  The evidence for that is left as an exercise for the student (since everyone's a god damn photoanalyst on the internet.)

Faked or not, it's still a gorgeous study of a P-38.

When was the last time you went to the cobbler?

Four years ago.  $600 calfskin boots, virtually indestructible, have had them resoled four times.  Only reason I haven't had them resoled since is because working from home, I rarely wear them anymore.

Completely worth it.  Quality re-soled boots are amazing.
