For some reason reminded me of this gem from the '70s.

Which has me wondering...

Other than it being the '70s...does anyone remember why this was considered funny?

Not sure.  But it probably has something to do with why Gary Coleman saying "what chu talkin' 'bout, Willis" was considered sidesplittingly funny back then.

Flouride in the water?  Polyesther poisoning?

Whatever it was, could explain disco too.

Random person on internet: "Did the M3 howitzer fire cannister shells in 1944?"

Me: pulls book of bookshelf.  "Yes, it did."

Also me: "I can't believe I can pull a book of my bookshelf and answer that question."

I learned two new words today - misgendering and deadnaming.  If I understand them correctly, both focus on calling a person [apologies if that appellation is insulting] by yesterday's pronoun or name.  For example, today it's Larry; sex change occurs (in fact, or wished for); tomorrow it's Laurleen.  Henceforth and ever more one does not insult the person by using the deadname (Larry), or misgender pronoun (he).

Simple, now my only problem is wondering which applies to whom....

Htf did that cop notice the car coming across in time to get his arse out of the way of that car?

Screeching tires, probably.  Car was well out of control on the pavement before it hit the dirt.

I'd like to think I would have jumped the guardrail (but you never know until you're in the situation).  He managed to run to the only spot that neither of the cars went through.  Lucky as shit.

She is my hero....

A 48-year-old woman survived five days stranded in the bush in Australia by eating sweets and drinking a single bottle of wine.

Surviving on alcohol and junk food

Sounds like an American inner city diet

The amazing thing is that she wasn't killed by some small, deadly venomous Australian beetle or something.
