Yikes. Releasing such a public statement isn't going to sit well with Belicheat or Kraft.

Somehow, I don't think he cares. Makes you wonder how bad it is there right now, doesn't it?

I'm not sure how bad it can really be. They spent the off-season like they were the only Monopoly player with money to buy property. And that's with Cam under center. They seem loaded with people who want to be there.

For the right price. That’s not the *Patriots of the last 20 years. Maybe for some, the money isn’t worth it?

Seems like they loaded up on several Taylor Halls.

Wow, drafting a WR is not his forte.

Belicheat's drafting has never been that great. He's had a lot of misses.

Marsha's play covered up a lot of issues.

Everyone has a lot of misses.  Belichick's biggest misses are WRs and there have been a couple of guys who got hurt early and didn't pan out.  I think a lot of the negativity towards him has to do with the big misses but that ignores 2 things:

1.  Their first round picks are almost always later in the round

2.  They generally did better later in the draft and got a lot of guys who ended up being important players on Championship teams.

From the outside looking in, he's a pretty good drafter - especially defensive players, OLineman, and QBs (Marsha, Brissett, Cassel, Garappolo).

With Peterson, Gore and McCoy unsigned, Cam Newton is NFL’s active leader in rushing TDs

</snip>

Newton, who ran for 12 touchdowns with the *Patriots last season, has 70 rushing touchdowns in his NFL career. That ranks him fourth among players who were active during the 2020 season, behind Adrian Peterson (118), Frank Gore (81) and LeSean McCoy (73).

But Peterson, Gore and McCoy all remain unsigned, and there hasn’t been a lot of reported interest in any of them from NFL teams. It’s still possible that one or all of them will play in the 2021 season, but right now none of them is an active player, and that makes Newton the active leader in rushing touchdowns.

With his rushing prowess, Newton occupies a unique place in NFL history. Newton has more rushing touchdowns than many Hall of Fame running backs, including Steve Van Buren, Thurman Thomas, Larry Csonka, Lenny Moore, O.J. Simpson, Terrell Davis, Paul Hornung and Gale Sayers.

Why would there be any sort of ceremony? He plays for an opposing team.

*Patriots’ Byron Cowart: Marsha is coming back as an opponent, no ceremonies for him

</snip>

*Patriots defensive tackle Byron Cowart, whose rookie year was Marsha’s last in New England, said he’ll treat Marsha the way he’d treat any other opponent.

“He’s done a lot of things for this organization,” Cowart said on the *Patriots Way of Life podcast. “He’s coming back, but he’s coming back as an opponent, so I’m going to treat it like any opponent.”

Cowart also said he doesn’t want the team to do anything special to welcome Marsha back.

“We ain’t welcoming him, we just got to play him. There ain’t going to be no damn ceremony for him or nothing like that,” Cowart said. “They might clap for him, but there’s not going to be no— bro, this is our opponent. Bro, what? We like to win.”
