I think people are taking this the wrong way... yes, the AFC just became more difficult -- FOR MAHOMES. 

 

Allen is better than Wilson. Sorry, he is. Allen is better than Herbert (by more than people think). All Wilson does is make it less likely anyone from the AFC West hosts the AFC title game. It makes it easier for the Bills to clinch homefield throughout the playoffs. 

 

Josh was always going to have to get through at least two franchise QBs, if not three, to get out of the AFC even before Wilson's arrival: Mahomes, Jackson, Herbert, Burrow.

However, had we had an actual NFL starting QB on the roster against JAX, that game would have been a playoff win. He's a nice fella but not an NFL starter.

I'm late to the party on the Wilson trade, as usual.

 

That's a lot of draft capital going to the Seahawks, but I'm trying to understand the players they acquired. As Mizzou alum (💩), I'm as qualified as anyone to say Lock is freaking terrible. I caught lots of flack saying that a few years ago at some other place, and he's proven me right so far. Fant is intriguing, but Carroll doesn't seem to use his TEs much, and they have a similar-sized receiving option in DK. The pieces will come together in the next month, but my initial thought is those draft picks had better be hits.
