Next season.  Most he can play is 20 games this season, so he'd still be 16 behind.

Also shows how lucky the Bills have been with his health.  Knock on wood.

How can this be a knock on Wood? He hasnt played in years. 🤪

Former NFL QB and current quarterback trainer Jordan Palmer joined the show. He talked about his recent podcast "The QB Room" featuring Bills QB Kyle Allen and this week's episode with Josh Allen. He talked about his offseason workings with the Bills QBs, what Josh Allen has worked on this past offseason, and his updated way of thinking when training his clients. Finally, he discussed the chemistry between Josh and Kyle on and off the field.

This means they still need to sign a QB to the PS to be the emergency #3, right?

Played at SMU. I can't pretend that I know him.

Matt Barkley got an injury settlement.

Yikes. I thought he hurt his hand, then I heard it was more than that which put him on IR for the year.

Sounds like they’re charting a course with the new QB3 to just run the Scout Team Offense - which is exactly what he’s done for the past 2-3 years for the Chefs. (Great googily moogilly.)

Six weeks is how long he has to keep his distance from The Bills. If they want him back, it’s an easy paycheck. So…

6 weeks PLUS the # weeks to recover from the injury

Injury settlements are, in some ways, a method to skirt the above rules as well as a way to give players an opportunity to earn a better living elsewhere. Contrary to what some believe a settlement is not a negotiation of price. It’s really a negotiation of weeks.  When a minor injury occurs a determination is made for weeks that the player will miss due to injury.

The player is not allowed to return to the team until the length of the settlement passes plus another 6 weeks.

Which means the door ain’t shut yet on bringing back Shane Ray in time for the Playoffs.

I cannot recommend enough to watch this entire video.  It's got a lot of stuff in it that's pretty cool.

Second-best, after Mac Jones.
