True.

But that whole series started with such promise and then they got so lost in the temporal wars and just made it such a waste.  Had toyed with doing a write up on that series like we had for the original series and there was just so much blech throughout didn't believe I could fully get behind doing it justice.  It was good overall (IMHO it was the 2nd best series of them all) but it just could've been so much better.

Oh yeah, those Terran midriffs were tasty

And it was fun to see Hoshi get to be the villain.  Usually she played the role of screamer or damsel in distress

The producers basically forced all the temporal war and contrived story lines based on an interview of Brannon Braga.

That whole suliban plot was garbage.

I guess I'm the heretic here. I think Enterprise never got coherent storylines. It's such a mishmash and while I like Scott Bakula, his Jonathan Archer is a pretty boring captain. Haven't seen any of the Trek series after that, though folks seem to have liked Picard. I am just assuming the arc from the dregs end of the old civilization in classic Trek has morphed into more and more incorporation of post-modern Woke sensibilities, I dunno. Voyager is my favorite of the newer series.

This two part podcast really sheds a lot of light on the show and some decisions that were made including how the disastrous finale was decided.

Too much time was wasted on the Xindi hence people lost interest.  Also, I did not like throwing the Gorn into the Mirror Universe two parter.  The Gorn were unknown prior to the events of Arena and should have stayed that way.  Too much retconning of Kirk era material.

Little late to this, but:

You have to remember that the Mirror episodes did not have anything to do with the regular ST universe. Just because the Federation did not know about the Gorn until Kirk met them doesn't mean that the Empire didn't.

Now, if you want to substitute Gorn for Ferengi and Borg, I'm with you. Those episodes were just stupid.

The Xindi arc was a waste of a season. Especially when they started using Voyager scripts damn near verbatim for some episodes that season. There were so many other stories that could have been told about what would become the core Federation races without having to invent a new race to war with. Hell, the Tellerites are treated as an afterthought with nothing to flesh out their species.

Don't even get my started about the 'temporal cold war' bullshit...

I get that different universes can have different events in terms of races, exploration, etc. but that does not change my opinion.  Call it my personal opinion but that is the way I feel about it.  Presumably when the Gorn were evading Kirk they were heading back towards their space but decided to short cut through Metron space which they soon regretted.  So the Metrons are not a factor in the Mirror Universe.  Do they not exist?  The Defiant going into the Mirror Universe was OK as the original episode "The Thoilan Web" opened the door for such an occurrence.  It does not violate anything in my mind.  The Pike radiation burn was starting to cross a line for me.  Personal opinions on my part but it's the way I feel about it.

I've been binging Deep Space Nine and am up to season 5

Just got done with "Trials and Tribble-ations" which IMO is one of the best episodes across the entire franchise.

It's a time travel episode where the DS9 crew is digitally inserted into TOS episode "The Trouble with Tribbles".  The DS9 crew sports TOS uniforms and 1960s hair styles and carries TOS communicators and tricorders

At one point, Dr Bashir lamenting on feeling out of place, says...im a doctor, hot an historian.

Upon encountering TOS Klingons, Chief OBrien and Odo ask Worf why they look so different.  To which Worf abruptly says Klingons do not talk about it.

Also, did you know Wrath of Khan featured a 50-something Kirk "gone to seed and living alone?"

Stupid &#%$ing article.

They saved themselves with Star Trek Picard season 3.  It’s actually very good.

I started Season 3 of Picard.  Episode 1 looks promising, however in the opening gunfight was a tad too ridiculous...

Pump action phaser

Is that the episode Worf declares that he is non-binary and his preferred pronouns are Qa and Pla?

Considering this is a 10 episode season, that makes E9 the penultimate episode, which is where one would expect the big reveal.

I just finished Episode 8 and will PM you what I think will happen in Episode 9 to avoid any spoilers here.  Including what's behind the red door.

I really wish they had made the door green for the porn reference
