You're confusing spike proteins which are a literal spike on the surface of a virus which is what enables a virus to enter you, and a simple protein which yes, our body needs.

 

Those "spikes" sticking to this image of the SARS-CoV-2 virus are the spike proteins

 

 

As for Zinc, it is essential to helping out immune system and body healing from injury while many people also link it to helping the absorption of other minerals and vitamins into the body
