🤣 Luckily we don't have any of the "You should all lose your jobs if you're not vaccinated" zealots here.

Although if we did have one, we could just lock them in their own thread with this guy to shitpost against each other to their heart's content.

I don't necessarily agree with losing your job if not vaccinated.  Private businesses have the right to do what the please in regards to rules for their business.

This is what I don't get. From the beginning the majority were supportive of business deciding what's best for them. Now they have decided to have vaccine mandates its "WHOA WHOA WHOA you cant do that."

Because the mandates are not taking natural immunity from already having the virus and recovering as has been taken into account for every other virus.

Many American businesses were forced to enact mandates. How is that their decision?

Do you think that private businesses would be putting in mandates if they weren't forced by the gov't?

Does this sound voluntary?

Biden to require COVID-19 vaccines, tests for millions of private workers

Crap Throwing Clavin

Just received guidance from the federal government: contractors are required to provide proof of vaccination and undergo regular COVID screening even if they are full-time remote.

That's just complete bullshit.

They have an option. Either weekly testing or vaccinations. What's wrong with doing weekly testing if they choose to go that route.

No problem with a $14,000 fine per violation if the business does not want to mandate?

The final rules aren't out yet, so everyone is defaulting to the hard vaccine option.

Mind you, all of this is happening MONTHS after the worst of Delta rolled through and cases are declining.    If there was a rationale for mandated vaccinations, it would have been in June.

Except that our system isn’t voluntary in many (most) instances, and neither is it mostly market based.

Most large corporations are granted anti-trust exemption, exclusive marketshare and/or direct subsidy through federal action. (see telecoms, mobile networks/internet, farming, biotech/pharma, pro sports)

Many more are propped up, and insulated from failure, from time to time, with federal bailouts. (finance, banking, insurance, auto manufacturing, airlines)

Still others are granted shaky legal accommodation to protect assets/future earnings from lawsuits (see the recent J&J filing seeking to retroactively dissolve the legal ownership of J&J baby powder)

The federal government uses the leverage it has over these companies in order force compliance over the population; and the executives making the decisions are happy to comply, because they’re a part of the club of elites, are completely interwoven with the political class to the point of figurative incest, and are, themselves, above the laws.

It’s the same reason all the massive boxes, on-line retailers, major chains, casinos, etc were permitted to remain open during the lockdowns; while mom and pops folded, and churches were forbidden to open.

The line between big business and government has been blurred over the past few decades to the point of near non-existence, now with the current administration working with social media companies to create desired censorship preferences and guidelines.

So, tell me again how these companies are simply doing what you suggest.

I honestly think they were trying to avoid mandating vaccines. IMO I fully believe they were hoping more people would have voluntarily got vaccinated. They were hoping to see closer to 70% fully vaccinated.

You're being naively optimistic.  US vax rate is well north of 60%.  Add in acquired immunity of the survivors and you should be well above 80% fully protected.

This is no longer about healthcare.

I get it. It's all about control. I am not going down that rabbit hole. It's no wonder you guys have so much division going on. Too many believe in some outlandish conspiracy and that the government is out to get them.

With that I am out.

You don't have to go down too far that hole to see what's happening.

If it was only about healthcare, there would be far more open dialogue and data available to the people.   You don't find it odd that any legitimate questions about the virus and its origins are immediately squashed?

Do you think this was a naturally occurring virus?

You will never know the truth, as  China hides a lot of things. I also don't believe it's some global plan in regards to the vaccine.

Most people don't believe in the global vaccine plan.

But there's too much fishy stuff going on about the origins and the efforts to stop any investigation.  It's no longer a fringe conspiracy.

Did you know that there is a huge federal land preserve in Idaho where the concentration of precious stones seems to be inexhaustible, and the Federal government permits US citizens to mine at their leisure, and keep all the gems they can produce?

Research Ruby Ridge to learn more.
