It isn't unusual for the Pats to pay PS players significantly more than league requirements if they want them to stay there.

Tre Nixon, for example, who the Pats drafted in the 7th round of the 2021 draft and signed to a 4-year, $3.5 million contract...then promptly cut and resigned to the PS at the minimum contract of $165,600 for one year.   Or Kristian Wilkerson, who's made the minimum in two seasons with the Pats.
