The influence of comedy is when a creator can, through humor, sway public opinion. “South Park” still has that ability.

The approval ratings for Prince Harry and his wife have plummeted since a recent episode of “South Park” that mocked the couple. It was the most notable episode of the franchise since the “Post Covid” special in 2021.

https://www.outkick.com/tim-robbins-backs-woody-harrelson-in-calling-for-an-end-to-covid-protocols/

Tim Robbins backed Woody Harrelson in calling for an end to Covid protocols in film.

“Woody is right. Time to end this charade,” Robbins tweeted in response to an interview last week during which Harrelson called ongoing Covid mandates “absurd.”

“I don’t think that anybody should have the right to demand that you’re forced to do the testing, forced to wear the mask and forced to get vaccinated three years on. I’m just like, let’s be done with this nonsense. It’s not fair to the crews. I don’t have to wear the mask. Why should they? Why should they have to be vaccinated? How’s that not up to the individual?” said Harrelson.

Seeing another star denounce lasting Covid protocols is not a site Hollywood expected to see. Actors have dutifully upheld The Science and left-wing talking points since the start of the pandemic.

Robbins and Harrelson are going off-script. And speaking facts.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I suspect Harrelson's and Robbins' names are not on the Epstein list

I can believe it - at least with Woody. He was far more interested in the sticky-icky than hanging with that crowd (back in the day, I think he said he stopped smoking?).

CHRISTIAN TOTO: Jon Stewart Meets the Divisive Country He Helped Create.

Speak the “wrong” truth and you’ll be chased from polite society. Embrace free speech, a la Joe Rogan, and you’re a MAGA-hat wearing Trumpster. J.K. Rowling went from beloved author to pariah by deviating from part, but certainly not all, of the trans community’s agenda.

Dave Chappelle, the comedy GOAT, nearly saw his career collapse for telling jokes about the trans community.

And we have Stewart to partly blame for this corrosive mindset.

And yet, presented with that truth, Stewart would simply put the clown nose on, and declare that he’s simply a comedian.

https://www.outkick.com/joe-rogan-opens-anti-cancel-comedy-club/

Joe Rogan opened a comedy club, which he calls a club of anti-cancel culture.

Comedy Mothership opened in Austin, Texas, this month. Rogan promoted its initial lineup with a group of canceled” comedians such as David Lucas, Ron White, Tim Dillon, Tony Hinchcliffe, and Roseanne Barr.

Joe Rogan can provide exiled comedians a safe space to be funny, kick back, and not worry about how some joke will land on Twitter, the land of the offended.

Comedy Mothership won’t end cancel culture. But it can put a dent into the woke’s plans by allowing comedians to be funny in at least one club in the country.

https://www.outkick.com/msnbc-editor-trashes-top-gun-as-insidious-because-its-pro-america/

On Saturday, MSNBC’s opinion editor Zeeshan Aleem wrote a ridiculous article calling the movie “literal propaganda,” among other criticisms.

Top Gun is Dangerous Because It Doesn’t Hate America

All because it didn’t openly hate America and provided compelling entertainment with realistic aerial action and a generally upbeat tone, despite some more serious momenets.

But that’s exactly why it’s so dangerous and “insidious” to MSNBC.

Far left media outlets and writers have become conditioned to view entertainment as a venue to promote progressive ideology.

Instead of movies being, you know, a product, which people should generally enjoy, they want each story to advance liberal ideals.

America is bad being one of them.

“Top Gun” was a slap in the face, partially because it was so successful.

Y'know, notfernuthin', especially because we stopped watching the Oscars years ago, but with all the money the Academy sits on, and all the glitz and glitter and celebrity that goes into people in a bubble giving awards to each other in the confines of the bubble, is it really too much to ask to have ONE person spend the next 12 months maintaining a list of everyone in the industry who died, so when they try to make themselves feel good with their stupid In Memoriam, they wouldn't snub some of their own self-created icons?

THIS DOESN’T STINK TO HIGH HEAVEN AT ALL:

Prosecutors: Gun in “Rust” shooting broke during testing, and “destroyed.”

https://hotair.com/headlines/2023/03/09/prosecutors-gun-in-rust-shooting-broke-during-testing-and-destroyed-n536006

Prosecutors refute the gun being destroyed allegation, but not that it broke:

Quote

Last week, Baldwin’s defense attorney made a damning allegation that the state had destroyed the gun, a key piece of evidence in the case.

Prosecutors later denied the accusation, stating it had sustained damage to internal components during the FBI’s functionality testing but that it “still exists and can be used as evidence.”

I recently binged the "New" Perry Mason show on HBO.

It is clever, very dark, and very good, but I am a sucker for 30's detective stories any way.

Of course I did have to accept this:

Perry Mason - white, divorced, alcoholic

Della Street - Lesbian, smarter than Perry.

Paul Drake - Black, angry ex cop

Hamilton Burger - also gay, smarter than Perry.

😄

Disney quietly took power from DeSantis' new board before state takeover

The new board handpicked by the Republican governor to oversee Disney's special taxing district said Wednesday it is considering legal action over a multi-decade agreement reached between the entertainment giant and the outgoing board in the days before the state's hostile takeover last month.

Under the agreement -- quietly approved on February 8 as Florida lawmakers met in special session to hand DeSantis control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District -- Disney would maintain control over much of its vast footprint in Central Florida for 30 years and, in some cases, the board can't take significant action without first getting approval from the company.

"This essentially makes Disney the government," board member Ron Peri said during Wednesday's meeting, according to video posted by an Orlando television station. "This board loses, for practical purposes, the majority of its ability to do anything beyond maintaining the roads and maintaining basic infrastructure."

The board on Wednesday retained "multiple financial and legal firms to conduct audits and investigate Disney's past behavior," DeSantis spokeswoman Taryn Fenske said. According to meeting documents, the board was entering into agreements with four firms to provide counsel on the matter.

"The Executive Office of the Governor is aware of Disney's last-ditch efforts to execute contracts just before ratifying the new law that transfers rights and authorities from the former Reedy Creek Improvement District to Disney," Fenske said. "An initial review suggests these agreements may have significant legal infirmities that would render the contracts void as a matter of law."

In a statement to CNN, Disney stood by its actions.

"All agreements signed between Disney and the District were appropriate, and were discussed and approved in open, noticed public forums in compliance with Florida's Government in the Sunshine law," the company said. Documents for the February 8 meeting show it was noticed in the Orlando Sentinel as required by law.

Hey, I'm all for stupid loopholes in stupid laws being highlighted, even if by Disney.

Aside from also enjoying this for the anti-corporate left's hypocrisy of supporting and encourage a private company's authority over government...something they'd otherwise rant against ad nauseam.

Not sure if you can get any more fraudulent with an "agreement".
