"His larger frame means he is able to easily cover most of the net without having to put as much effort into his movements. Combined with his quick hands and controlled reactions, Leinonen might be on many radars— especially if he makes it to the second round."

Ugh.  I hope we don't regret this pick 3 years from now.

There is alot of talk that it could turn out that when all is said & done that he might be the best guy on that stud Finnish top line even though he's been the one typically forgotten much like Aho didn't get the hype that Laine & Pulijarvi got but if there was a redo, he could very well have been the 1st of the 3 taken.

Getting a Sebastian Aho w/ your 2nd pick would be a nice haul.  And then throw in that they considered Kulich as top 16 as well but landed him w/ 28, they're very happy with their haul.  So is this kid.

I'm not going to criticize because it's the NHL draft and anyone who's followed it for more than 10 minutes knows it's at best a crap shoot after the first couple of picks (and in some years...not even that).  For the first time in a long time it really does feel like the front office has a clue/plan.

They also resigned Subban to a 2 way deal for 1 year at $850k.  Haven't heard what the AHL Salary will be yet.

My guys to pay attention to are Rosen & Kulich.

Rosen because he's such a question mark still due to still being a kid playing in an adult league and not having particularly strong stats but doing well when going against guys his own age.  Want to see how he matches up w/ Peterka & Quinn.

Kulich because he's professing he's ready for the NHL.  Want to see just how delusional he is.  Or if he actually will pull a Ryan O'Reilly who was drafted in the 2nd round and played nearly the full year in the NHL that 1st season after being drafted.  Kulich is a 1st rounder, but at 28th overall is not expected to be ready for a couple of years.
