I wonder if that decision might have involved Denver management throwing an unholy fit about playing a game last year without a QB rather than delaying it.

yet not unlikely

the CDC gives multi-millions to a low budget NFL alumni group

the NFL pushes harder than norms would dictate to get 100% vax compliance

and impose absolutely vindicate and punitive penalties on the un-vaxxed which do nothing for the health of the players

the NFL does not change the protocols and increase testing of the vaxxed after its proven conclusively that the vaxxed are catching and transmitting the Delta

 

logical to presume that the NFL has sold out its players to the CDC for teh only thing the NFL cares about -$$$
