The deflating reality of to just what extent they've managed to negatively impact regular people with their bullshit set in yesterday after speaking with multiple home companies and builders. In one years time; the home we wanted is priced more than 80% higher, not far from double what it was. It was a simple 2000SQFT double wide floor plan that we wanted done in modular. Even in a "barndominium"; it's astounding.

Our pup has been sick for a few months and they don't know what is going on. Last night she had another set back and we are still waiting to get in with the specialist. It's been a month. My wifes grandfather whom we care for since her parents passed; is not doing well and looks like we will need to get him living with us which was a big part of this. So, we have a lot to weigh.

We may walk away from this and this angers me. I know this isn't the place for politics but how people are fine with what they're doing boggles my mind. You can bet your ass if this same caliber of complacent American citizen existed in April of 1775; Paul Revere would have wasted his time.

Naturally, even though I am upset and a little disheartened, other people out there have it worse and I really should not be complaining. It could be much, much worse. Need to focus on the good.

Just heard from my realtor; the buyers got their appraisal done yesterday so……if it doesn’t appraise and they can’t cover the gap; it’s ours. If it did appraise or they can, it’s not.

I know you've been dealing with a lot of emotions with all of this, but there are two things I remind myself when things feel like they're working against me.

1. God has you right where he wants you. He doesn't say "Oops."

2. You can not appreciate going 13-3 without having suffered through 3-13.

This will work out for you. Be patient.

Thanks, IDB. Definitely been a roller coaster of emotions for sure . What you mention is exactly where I'm trying to train my mind to stay lol There will be a reason this goes either way and we do need to just relax and let it be.

....it almost feels like you are 8 years old. You are riding with your dad in the car and you ask to stop for ice cream. He doesn't say anything, he just keeps driving. You know where you are and where you want to be which is where the ice cream is. As you get closer and closer to the ice cream store, you start to think about which one you're going to choose and you are giddy with anticipation. You can see the ice cream store in the distance. But, dad's not slowing down.

The closer you get, the more you start to feel the panic and letdown that you may not be getting any ice cream. As you pass the ice cream store, you're deflated, sad and a little upset. You sit there quiet for the rest of the trip. When you get home and walk through the door, there is a surprise birthday party for you and you get to have all the ice cream and cake you want.

That's what I feel trusting God is like. He ultimately knows what you want, what you need, what's going to happen and where you need to be to get the most out of what he has for you. Meanwhile; we are just a roller coaster of emotions and impatience on the trip. Not knowing the good that awaits us when we get home. We have to trust that God knows best even if we want to be angry because something didn't work out like we had hoped.

I cant wait! I did start a couple grapes this spring to see how they would fare. My wife saw a video where they have the grapes growing all around a tunnel into the garden lol

Happy Saturday. Too hot to do much. Built and painted my first bird house. Going to have to get much better if I want to sell these.

I had to come up with a way to paint the stained glass and it did work out.

Thank you! I was surprised how good it turned out. I had to figure out how I was going to do the windows. Painters tape and some outdoor acrylic paint. I’ll seal with poly.

Well; two more days until the buyers are supposed to close. I do not want to ask our realtor to check because I don't want to put it to bed. The little bit of hope that we have is enough for us to enjoy planning etc. Don't want to take that away from her. Nothing new has been listed for two weeks in the area. That is unheard of. I think people are starting to realize the situation and those who wanted to sell, already did. I've got signs up everywhere looking for property and explaining that we are not investors or developers but no calls since I put them out over a month ago.

No news at all yesterday. Realtor says she's hopeful. I think she's just being nice. The last thing on the selling agents mind if everything is on track is to reach out to people who don't matter to let them know either way. They have until 5pm tonight.

Still no new property listed. Saturday will be 3 weeks I believe. They raised the rates again yesterday which will probably make people shy about even getting into the market. If things are listed, I am assuming that will be when the development vultures step out and start scooping up properties for future use. Did not sleep much. Fighting off this bitter feeling but man its strong.

I'm one of the few who keeps saying appreciation has been outpacing inflation for many years now.  All the gimmicks have been used such as artificially lowering interest rates and extended terms to make this happen.  The buying power for the last 50 years has rested mostly with the Baby Boomers and they are heading to being net sellers versus having been buyers.  They had the large salaries by and large with many finishing their working careers making 30 dollars per hour or more.  Most younger people are stuck at 15.00 dollars per hour and that 15 dollars per hour had lost a fair amount of buying power before the events of the last two years happened.  If values trend lower it might be best if a move did not happen for a while yet.  If this deal does not happen for you it may not be the worst thing to happen.

It’s gone. Although I am not happy it’s gone. as Rochester has eluded to in their post; there is something brewing that’s going to cause some kind of rift.

Those who know me from the political side know that I am as I untrusting as anyone of those in office and positions of influence. I know what is being done is being done on purpose and why I would let the excitement and dream of a farm seduce me into spending more than it’s worth at a time such as this I don’t know.

I trust God to open the doors I need and close the ones we don’t. I do fear missing a door that he opens because I’m not paying attention and vice versa.

I’m chalking this up as a sign that I don’t need to be heavily involved financially at this point in time. Meanwhile we will continue to do the small things around here that make us happy and pay attention to everything going on in the world with the same disbelief that we’ve had up to this point.

Take solace in the fact that with everything going in the world today, and specifically right here at home, it may be that the real estate market is heading south. If that is the case, you will be in a better position to dictate terms and not over pay. Keep continuing to build that nest egg and the right situation will pop up.

I am in the market for another rental but I refuse to get into bidding wars. Everything here that goes on the market is snapped up in mere hours. As such, I am biding my time as well.

Hang in there and take the long view.  As long as you are doing your best there is no reason to feel that you are letting yourself or others down.  God keeps a different score card of what we accomplish than what the rest of us mortals do.  Riches comes in many forms.

I think it has to be. Of course; the realtors aren't trying to push that idea but it has to be headed south.

We are torn on the whole rental thing. We have her parents home that we could rent out but needs a bit of work. Plus; we don't want just anyone living next to us. Family is out of the question. The only ones who need a place to live are not the caliber of people who can keep up with a cell phone bill let alone rent.

When we get our home built; we could potentially have 3 rental houses with a little work. We don't know if we want the added headache.

Thank you; we talked about it last night on our walk and agreed that we need to just be and let be. It's been a long process just trying to secure land and we have been unsuccessful long enough. We are taking a break.

I say that now and hope it sticks.
