"Underrepresented."

If Hollywood focused more on the quality of writing than diversity check boxes, modern movies and TV wouldn't suck

Clear diversity hire: Greenbaum is an under-represented Jewish white male.

They're remaking the Naked Gun ... with Liam Neeson.

A long-gestating reboot of the “Naked Gun” franchise with Liam Neeson is finally moving forward at Paramount, landing a release date of July 15, 2025.

The currently-untitled project will be directed and executive produced by Avika Schaffer, who co-wrote the draft script alongside Dan Gregor and Doug Man. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are producing via their company Fuzzy Door.

Liam Neeson?  I'd have expected someone like Melissa McCarthy, and a story about how oppressed Frances Drebin is by everyone else at Police Squad.

And a "currently untitled" Naked Gun reboot?  Hey, morons!  The title is The Naked Gun.  You're welcome.   (EDIT: @Deranged Rhino Think I can get consulting producer credit for this?)

He's hilarious - and works well with Seth McFarland, so I agree it's not bonkers casting. He has the perfect delivery and voice to make Drebin 2.0 hysterical.

It's just... why remake it at all (but we all know why).

You're not going to improve on the last 15 minutes of that movie at the baseball stadium. You're just not. I'd like to think even Liam Neeson would be like, "Look, this really seems like a bad idea."

I'd be like...listen to THAT man!

Oh, he can be funny.

The issue here is: Leslie Nielsen was funny because he wasn't.  He was the perfect straight man, which is what made Frank Drebin funny.

Can't really see Liam Neeson being that deadpan.  Serious, comedic, dramatic, yes...but he always brings an intensity to his performances that isn't deadpan.

Yeah, I want to see the Denis Villeneuve remake of The Big Lebowski.  Long, lingering, panoramic, melodramatic shots done in a bold, washed-out color scheme of...

Not to mention that the truly best way to appreciate Leslie Nielsen doing comedy is to make it a point to watch "Forbidden Planet."
