It's only a matter of time federally. Those 37 states are making too much revenue from the taxes for the Feds to take it away. Pretty sure CA wouldn't be solvent without it right now.

giviong a free pass to drug gangs to import much harder drugs also would be a better target than weed.

If you try to follow the link to the actual job it now goes to "Page Unavailable". But...this isn't an auditor job. If you look at the text pop up for the link it mentions Criminal Investigation Special Agent. And that does raids and knocks down doors, so they do need to be armed a bit better than social workers.

Some IRS agents have always been armed. My sister was a revenue agent and applied for a higher-up position where she would have been armed. She didn't get it (thank goodness), but those positions have existed in the IRS since at least the 90s (when she applied).
