Seems to me that one of two things were happening with this civil case.

Either Ariaza is guilty and that girl’s lawyer mishandled her interests badly.

Or the lawyer knows that his claims against Ariaza are false at worst/weak at best and tried to get everyone to pay before his case would be tested in Court. And even then it looks like he badly mishandled things

So far with what we know the bolded sounds about right. And the simple fact the attorney went to the Bills tells me he was somehow trying to twist this so he could claim they were liable in this by association as an enabler.

There's less evidence that he was involved.  Note that I've been very careful to say "She was raped" without saying Araiza was involved.

Exactly, Araiza should still be on the team and starting on the 8th...:crying3:

Wonder if he didnt anticipate the Bills cutting Araiza therefore getting no payday and subsequently dropping the civil suit. Then what if the Bills resign Araiza as a big FU to her POS lawyer.

Or he knew he was never going to win anything and his only “win” was to get Araiza fired. This guy doesn’t come across to me as smart enough to pull that off though.

Nice to see Bills Twitter back to discussing roster moves and breakdown of plays again.

Looks like the batschitcrazy egg-on-my-face-for-following-this-team do-something-Do-Something-DO-SOMETHING "BEANE HAS LOST ALL CREDIBILITY -- FIRE SOMEONE!!! CROWD "  has wiped the frothy foam off their pieholes and are back to checking their folding table inventory for the season.

The press just does not want to let this go.

They know if they ask enough questions, someone will likely say something that will get them that one last bit of self-important relevance they crave so desperately.

My hope is the team has made it clear to the players that the Timmahs! and JWs will keep asking about this, and the correct and only answer is the one Dion gave: we're past it.

But make no mistake: they're not out for an update on anything. They're out for a verbal trip-up.

Was he though? He may have been bad, but he wasn't to Tim Graham or John Wawrow levels. Just the questions those two asked at the final press conference made them the "winners."

The beauty of this is when they gather later at the bar, dropping names and accomplishments with Jose Cuervo and Captain Morgan, until at some point during the year they all vote for each to win a journalism award created by journalists, given to journalists, based on journalists deciding who is the keenest journalist of them all that year.

The real irony being that it would have taken any one of them 15 minutes' googling and a couple of phone calls to break the story back in April.

It has been noticed that there have been numerous people using what has been said in the political forum realm, in attacks within this thread. Let's all please refrain from doing so going forward. There is a dividing line between the political forum and the Bills forum. There is an ignore function, so use it if you can't help yourself from replying to others who may agitate you.

Thank you.

We can still refer to our Swedish world overlords over here though, right?  They are the ones ultimately responsible for Araiza's release, after all.

But that would've required them to do actual work.

Will never forget being at a conference about the newly enacted CAAA and sitting at the lunch table that the EPA head was at (because this kid was too raw to know you didn't just go up and sit at the table the keynote speaker was at when you're just some random junior level engineer) and a woman who had worked at the Cleveland Plain Dealer who now was on the national beat (can't recall which org she was working for) was complaining about how much harder her new job was because she couldn't just call up the mayor's office and have them give her a quote about whatever the issue du jour was but instead she had to do actual reporting.

[Edit: after lunch he held a press conference about some new international initiative the EPA was partnering with some other nation's chief environmental agency.  There were about 15 reporters present.  Between them, they only had 6 questions total and none had to do with either the press conference topic nor the CAAA.]

It doesn't seem to have improved any in 30+ years.
