She's calling the change in tactics - any change in tactics - reasonable. Though I have little doubt she believes the tactic itself is reasonable as well. That's what iconoclasts do. The way it is now is a prime example of engineers "improving" things. Simple is good. I wanted to have my plumber take out the electronic pilot light in my boiler and replace it with a simple, trusty thermocouple. That way, I have heat when the power goes out. He won't do it. Apparently, that's IlLeGaL. I don't trust myself to not completely eff it up. The way it is now is a prime example of politicians "improving" things.

But if the controller's in the bulb, you can't just bypass it. You need an entirely different kind of bulb altogether.

Spartacus
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/macron-urges-us-china-pay-their-fair-share-climate-change As the world's biggest hypocrites arrive in their private jets at the UN Climate Summit in Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh (or as Rabo's Michael Every puts it, "Sham el-Chic"), French President Emmanuel Macron quickly made an early splash (perhaps more so even than Greta who is trying to get rich from her book telling us how we need to destroy capitalism), when he "urged" the United States, China and other non-European rich nations to pay their fair share to help poorer countries deal with climate change. "We need the United States and China to step up" on emissions cuts and financial aid, Macron told French and African climate campaigners on Monday on the sidelines of the COP27 summit. "Europeans are paying," he said. "We are the only ones paying." "Pressure must be put on rich non-European countries, telling them, 'you have to pay your fair share'," he said, using every socialist's favorite term. 1 1

Spartacus
https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/california-mulls-ban-all-gas-and-diesel-truck-fleets The plan would mandate that all new trucks operating around busy railways and ports be zero emission vehicles by 2024 - while all diesel trucks would be phased out by 2035, and eventually, banishing every truck and bus fleet from California roads by 2045, where feasible, according to SFGATE. "This will do damage to us. We don't really understand how to charge these vehicles," he said, adding "Those pieces of equipment go home with those men every day, so they'll need to be charged from home? How do you compensate that person for that?" On the other side of the fence, environmentalists - including the Sierra Club, argued in favor of an expedited timeline to rid California roads of internal combustion engines as quickly as possible. Maybe they can also figure out how to solve the massive logistical and economic issues that would surely ensue, as well as what to do with all that lithium when the batteries eventually go bad?
