Despite "some" thinking that the CDC controls the NFL, this makes it clear that it's the NFL that's driving the CDC's policy, not the other way around.  Which must really piss off Adam Silver, given that it's the NBA that initially set national COVID policy back in March of 2020.

Sometime between the midterm elections and 2024 Presidential election cycle.  So that COVID cannot be used against the Democrats and the existential threat narrative can be shifted to Republicans retaking the White House

As a scientist, I can confirm that's entirely true.  Skepticism - healthy skepticism, reflecting falsifiability as a scientific principle, rather than just blind, ignorant gainsaying - is a necessary component of the scientific process.
