NFL Network has the Vikings VS. The Bills 2022 game replay on last night. It was their No.5 “Best Game” of the season. &#%$. If &#%$ing Singlefumbletary didn’t fumble the &#%$ing ball, we would have won that &#%$ing game. :boxing:

Singletary?
How about the “Bad Time For A Bad Snap” game.

on the flip side, you already are paying mega-bucks to your superstud QB - how many potentially explosive plays do you take away from Josh in exchange for pounding the rock, just because?

Here's how to fix that:

BB: "Josh, we're going to pay you all of your money. Here's $30M in a signing bonus that isn't against the cap. Then we're going to defer $80M until 2030, and you get a running game and two quality O-line people for the next 2-3 years. Your money is guaranteed even if you hold the ball like a loaf of bread and run willy-nilly with it. Is that ok?"

He got more than half of those on one run in the second quarter, 76 yards. On his other 19 attempts, he gained 67 yards, for a 3.53 ypa.

We probably should have cared about AJ Brown in that game. Had we, we more than likely would have won.

That's how great running backs generally work.   They have a ton of carries that don't go for much.  That's why commitment to the run requires a dependable back who can get tough yards and hold onto the football.

Defenses don't fear Singletary.  That much is completely clear.

From my vantage point. We need a consistent tough runner getting positive yards that can take pressure of josh not to take it upon himself to run all the time. Maybe kid Robinson from Texas might help. But, for any running back the guys up front need to be road graders and demolish line of scrimmage. This why in my opinion offense line upgrade has to be priority in this draft followed by running back and safety

Zeke Elliott anyone?

sure

pay him minimum, since Jerry will be still paying him

all the "experts" will be placated and stop bitching, as we got a "stud" (in name only) to pound the rock

at least he can catch and pass block

just don't expect much pop in the run game

A big, bruising back that can handle short-yardage situations would take some of the load off of quarterback Josh Allen, who is constantly putting his body on the line due to his dual-threat ability. While he's not taking this completely out of his game any time soon, having Elliott there to take some of the heat would be better for the offense in the long run.

And though Elliott isn't the player he once was, he's still a savvy veteran with experience that isn't easy to replicate through other free agency signings. His awareness in pass protection could also prove to be huge for Allen and the offense for a pass-happy Bills team.

Zeke has definitely gotten heavy legged, though he's a good receiver and blocker.  There will be options in both the draft, post 1 June, and during camp that will likely be better players for us.

won't count against the comp pick formula,

which should be a factor as they need to convert loss of Edmunds into 3rd round comp pick

The Bills are already in the negative for comp picks.

Lost Edmunds, signed at least 2 FA's

Bills have plenty of opportunity to lose more free agents than they gain.

Especially if they wait to sign until 2 weeks after the draft,

Bottom 3 don't count in the formula only

Only players designated as UFA count in the formula.

There are at least two players on that list that have resigned.

A] Compensatory Free Agent (“CFA”) shall be defined as an Unrestricted Free Agent (“UFA”) who: (i) signed with a new Club during the prior free agency signing period […] prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, on the Monday following the NFL Draft for that League Year1 […]; and (ii) ranked within the top 35%2 of all League players […]. Clubs that lose to other Clubs a greater number of CFAs than they sign or acquire from other Clubs shall be eligible to receive a Compensatory Draft Selection in the College Draft to be held in the following League Year subject to the provisions set forth below.

Here is the link that goes into more detail.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Bills signed RB Damien Harris, formerly of the Patriots, to a one-year contract.

Reports surfaced earlier in the week that the Bills were looking to sign a "heavy back" following the departure of Devin Singletary, and this move is right in line with those reports. It makes sense from a real-world football sense considering the two backs currently on the roster are the undersized James Cook and Nyheim Hines. Expect Harris to step into the starting role on paper, with both Cook and Hines serving in change of pace and pass-catching roles. That should also leave the primary goal line role to the newcomer Harris, who scored 15 rushing touchdowns just two seasons ago.
