Packers star receiver Davante Adams has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced today.

 

With a short week ahead, the Packers have now moved into enhanced mitigation COVID protocols. That includes daily testing and required masking for all at the Packers facility, regardless of vaccination status.

Adams doesn’t have much time to get off the list, meaning he will likely be out on Thursday night.

So a vaccinated guy gets the virus and spreads the virus, but he can play with two negative tests. But an unvaccinated player who only had a close contact with COVID has to go into isolation?

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Lazard went on the list as an unvaccinated close contact of someone who tested positive. That person is presumably Adams.

Based on what we've seen this year with teams losing their HC the week before a game (see Gruden and Kingsbury), you may want to sit on your original pick.  Losing Nagy actually sounds like the perfect example of addition by subtraction.

Interesting choice of words. If he wasn't vaccinated, I wonder if there will be further league punishment, assuming he wasn't following unvaccinated protocols.

Weird Tweet, as there are other players who are unvaccinated, but aren't out on Sunday. Rodgers is out because he actually has COVID, not because he is unvaccinated. 

 

I do like how Ian shares credit with Garafolo though. It's cute. I imagine them holding hands while one of them presses the send Tweet button (and I am sure they take turns).

Judge told reporters that the team had 13 positive tests among those tested on Tuesday. Some of those positive tests included players and all 13 people were retested after the initial round of results.

 

Judge said that the only positive in that round of tests is running backs coach Burton Burns, but, because of the results on Tuesday, all players, Tier 1 and Tier 2 personnel are being retested on Wednesday. There is no word on new positives from that round of testing.
