I guess not even John Wick could scare off covid

Only if it kills his dog.  Then COVID would be over in days.

My opinion (feel free to disagree): I think it is hilarious that Rodgers lied to the press and they are all up in arms, "He lied to us!" No one owes the "press" the truth.

Saying that... Rodgers lied to the Green Bay fans. After what he put them through this summer? No bueno.

How will this impact betting!?

uncontrolled outbreak  among the vaxxed?

or just more false positives from a compromised PCR  testing system?

Judge told reporters that the team had 13 positive tests among those tested on Tuesday. Some of those positive tests included players and all 13 people were retested after the initial round of results.

Judge said that the only positive in that round of tests is running backs coach Burton Burns, but, because of the results on Tuesday, all players, Tier 1 and Tier 2 personnel are being retested on Wednesday. There is no word on new positives from that round of testing.

now we know

false positives galore

pity the poor shlubb on street who is gets a false positive, without endless backup tests for "validation"

“Bio-Reference Laboratories (BRL) is experiencing an unusually high number of false positives using the Rapid Mesa Test at our facility. With the exception of one individual, all of the positive Mesa test results over the last two days have come back negative through PCR testing. The laboratory is working with experts to determine the source of the problem.”

“The NFL and BRL are monitoring this situation closely. We are temporarily halting the use of the Rapid Mesa Test and administering PCR tests only.”

The press always acts like this.  Always.  They hate anyone (like GWB) who - rightfully and accurately - points out "We don't owe you anything."

Sports reporting is a little different - less scope for investigative reporting, you pretty much have to take what players and others say at face value so as not to alienate your sources.  But the ivory-tower attitude is still prevalent.

The Giants have been dealing with "multiple false positive tests"

Saquon Barkley back at Giants facility after false positive COVID-19 test

That's not really a problem with the tests.  You want initial tests to be quick and give a low number of false negatives.  If they give false positives, that's usually okay, as your initial testing serves as a gateway to filter people requiring more testing.  Your false positives get screened out in the second round of more accurate testing.

What this really shows is how thoroughly stupid the NFL's policy is.  They're using that initial quick screening test as a discriminating test it shouldn't be used as.  :wallbash:
