More that something was wrong with 2012.  Spiller had an insane season that year, a ridiculous statistical outlier from the rest of his career.

There's some study I read a couple of years ago that basically says most free agents are bigger losses to their former team than they are gains to their new team.  Given the BILLS' complicated offense, new OC, and Crowder's camp injury issues, I'm not surprised they're not shining at this moment.
