People keep saying these things because QBs like Mark Rypen, Trent Dilfer, and Brad Johnson have Superbowl rings.  Not realizing that they 1) had career years when they won the Superbowl, and 2) had an extraordinary supporting cast when they won the Superbowl.

Glad to see him get something extra, but it still seems like he won't get re-signed next year.  Hoping that's misreading the tea leaves, but doubt it is.

I agree but at the same time, it's a good message to the players that the organization will take care of you to the extent they can.

 

GMBB isn't going to pay expensive older players outside of exceptional situations (VM40, QBs).  That's just not how you win in the NFL.

He's also not signing players who lack the maturity to understand the cap and business side of the game.  Taking care of guys within the constraints imposed on him, and no one's blaming Beane for those constraints.

Benford was clearly the better option to play exclusively zone concept but both players showed well and did a good job handling their assignments/tackling.

Caught the tail end of a discussion on OBL saying that both Elam and Benford might start on Monday because Jackson is banged up.  Anybody know what the injury/ concern is &/or how likely it is he might miss the game?

 

Thought Oliver was the only truly questionable player for Monday.
