Well, the NJ DOT and the Jets have much deeper pockets than a DB that most NFL fans would have trouble remembering.  Kudos to this guy's lawyers for most likely remembering that naming a team in a lawsuit was made popular by a lawyer who chased the Bills and the Punt God.  Eyes are also on the lawyers going after the Chief's Rice to see if they have the balls to name KC in the coming lawsuit.  KC already jumped in the fire that was Britt Reid's coming lawsuit.  Is it that hopeless to avoid a lawsuit even if a party is not directly responsible?  Imagine the legal precedent in dragging an employer into a lawsuit who has much deeper pockets than the initial defendant?  Britt Reid?  Does this mean that 20th Century Fox and ABC are responsible as well because a certain television character inspired the real Reid?  A guy in Rochester, NY whose first and middle name is Bruce Wayne committed a murder so is now the same previously named ABC and DC Comics now responsible for his behavior?  Batman creator Bob Kane was a kind and just man so did the previously mentioned parties corrupt his work?  Translation meaning Bob Kane never had deep pockets and the estate he did have is tapped out.

Ahhh, yes, the schedule release.   Second only to the draft for providing a quick snapshot into the minds of fans stupid enough to think they can tell you, in May, the results of a series of events that don't even start until September and finish in the following February.   It's Festivus. For the rest of us.

Also suing NJ DOT.     Maybe I missed part of the story...but were the Jets and NJ DOT driving recklessly?

had to be traumatic for the team to immediately assign Diggs # not   https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/bills-give-away-stefon-diggs-old-jersey-number-heres-who-will-be-wearing-no-14-in-buffalo-in-2024/   It didn't take long for the Buffalo Bills to give away Stefon Diggs' old number. The Bills announced Saturday that recently signed wideout Chase Claypool will wear No. 14, the number Diggs' wore during his four-year run with the team.

Newly surfaced video shows moment Jets cornerback Brandin Echols loses control of sports car at 84 mph, runs motorist off road in horrifying crash     A newly surfaced video shows the stomach-churning moment that New York Jets cornerback Brandin Echols loses control of his Dodge Charger Hellcat at 84 mph and runs a hapless motorist off the road, sending the BMW airborne, hurtling over a guardrail and into a field.    Stephen Gilberg, 51, of Livingston, N.J., claims he became “partially paralyzed” following the April 26, 2022 accident, and is now suing Echols and the Jets.   The high-speed crash unfolded around 2 p.m. on Columbia Turnpike, near Morristown Airport, just minutes from the Jets’ practice facility in Florham Park, N.J.   Echols was suspended for one game in 2023 but the team never publicly announced it was for the rookie’s reckless, near-fatal driving   </snip>   The Jets are responsible for the negligent acts of Echols, Gilberg said in the Morris County Superior Court lawsuit filed last month.    “New York Jets . . . did not exercise reasonable care in hiring defendant, Echols, as one of its players in that they failed to conduct the proper motor vehicle and/or criminal history checks,” the suit states.   Echols “has a history” of reckless driving and had a “remote controlled license plate concealer” in the vehicle, alleged Gilberg. Such concealers are usually used to evade tolls and speeding and red-light cameras.   </snip>
